Corrugated is your best packaging option when your product is sent out as a direct mailer and requires protection from the wear and tear of shipping. This versatile material is easy to manufacture in large formats and allows you to vary shapes with trays and platforms for specific products. In addition to providing superb protection for your product, corrugated is ideally suited for decorating with flexo, screen, and offset printing.

Corrugated Fiberboard has two primary components: The linerboard and the medium. Both are made from a heavy paper called containerboard. Linerboard is the flat, smooth surface that adheres to the medium. The medium is the wavy, fluted paper that is sandwiched between the linerboard. The linerboard is traditionally produced as bleached or mottled white or Kraft and provides a uniform surface for mounting, printing or affixing labels.

The flutes in the medium form rigid columns that are able to support considerable weight. When pressure is applied to a corrugated package, the space between the flutes cushion the contents of the container and insulate them from damage. Flutes come in several standard shapes (A,B,C,E,F), with A being the largest and F being the smallest. The wide range of flutes offered by PPI enable you to create packaging that meets your aesthetic goals while providing the contents of the package with the protection it needs to withstand the rigors of shipping.
